FICMS have a LIFE SPAN OF 3-5 years, YOUR FICM has components like capacitors.
Since the electrolyte capacitors evaporate the dielectric grease with in them (these are used the FICM) the FICM design life is not infinite, it is rated in hours at a set temperature, for set period of time of roughly 3000-4000 hours at 105 °C (EXAMPLE 200 Hrs = 5000 miles), which is one of many reasons why they fail so often.

AS a former Ford Truck T.E.E. (Truck Engine Engineering) Prototype Tech from Dearborn MI , There is no such thing as BENCH TESTING a FICM unless your INTERNATIONAL or FORD, and have the 900K test bench to stress test with injector load.

Q: Will I need to reprogram my FICM?

A: NO, we do not change the programming so your FICM will be the same after the repair.

 

Q: Can you ship it back faster?

A: Yes, but only if you include your own pre-paid shipping label. We ship back UPS ground or USPS Postal. Return Shipping time is 2-3 days.

 

Q: Are you open Saturday or Sunday for Service, or to Receive packages?

A: NO, We are only open Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST.

How to test FICM first to see if it is the culprit before you send it in for rebuild:

 

On top of the FICM you will see a rectangular plate with 2 screws.  Remove them and pull the plate off careful not to rip the gasket on the plate. To test unit use a volt meter and ONLY touch the torx screw closest to the driver side to ground, Specification is 45 volts or above, if the voltage is less than 45 volts, Your FICM needs this repair service.

 

This is a repair service for your Ford Super Duty 6.0L fuel injection control module for a no start / rough start condition or the P0611 error code.  This error code can also trigger low voltage on the injectors causing the P0261, P0264, P0267, P0270, P0273, P0276, P0279 & P0282 code.
